Virtual Scrabble Tournament
SCRABBLE Tournament for Literacy on Sunday, November 1 at 3 p.m.
Due to the uncertainties brought about by the CoVid pandemic, as well as the financial obstacles that the pandemic has caused for many, we made the decision to modify our annual SCRABBLE Tournament for Literacy event and focus on the joy of celebrating community through hosting a “FUN”-raiser this year.
This will be KCALC’s tenth annual SCRABBLE Tournament for Literacy. While this event would normally raise money to support our ongoing literacy programs in Kleberg-Kenedy County, this pandemic reminded us just how fortunate we, as an organization, are to live in such a supportive community. After much thought about social distancing and the safety and health of our supporters being of utmost importance to us, we have decided to not only go virtual, but to forego our normal request of sponsorship fees, since you will essentially be hosting your team remotely. This year, our event will be a “FUN” raiser. Let’s just have a fun event! We have all weathered some pretty tough days, and we are all working diligently to overcome the effects of the shutdown of most local businesses, schools and social interaction.
Many of you have participated in our annual SCRABBLE Tournament for Literacy before, and we would love to have you join us again as we continue in the celebration of promoting literacy in our community and enjoying some fun and friendly competition!
If you are interested in participation in the event, please email KCALC at email@example.com or text to 361-595-1010 about your interest either as a team captain, judge or volunteer for the event. Please do so as soon as possible, so we can make this event as safe yet fun as possible. Remember, there is no required sponsor fee, but please know that donations may be made, if you so choose.
