Background

The Kleberg County Adult Literacy Council (KCALC) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization servicing the Kleberg-Kenedy County area. KCALC was established by members of the Woman’s Club of Kingsville and began as a totally volunteer driven organization on October 13, 1986.  KCALC is located in the R.J. Kleberg Public Library in Kingsville, and we provide services in public buildings within the community.

Mission Statement

The Kleberg County Adult Literacy Council is a non profit organization that believes all adults should be able to read, write and speak the English language.  To that end, KCALC provides FREE individualized and/or group instruction to those adults eighteen and older with limited reading, writing and/or English speaking skills.

KCALC feels that all learning should be learner-centered, relevant, and immediately applicable.

KCALC provides services FREE of charge and does not discriminate based on religion, age, gender, ethnicity, physical ability or sexual orientation.
